Is it a beaver without a tail? A hairy pig without a snout? No, it’s a capybara, the largest rodent in the world! Capybaras usually live in small groups of about 10 individuals, but during the wet season, as many as 40 capys may be found together! It is helpful to have many sets of eyes watching out for the youngsters like this little one here. See them in action in the Elephant Odyssey habitat at the San Diego Zoo. Part of our miniature plush collection, this capybara stretches 8" across. Collect them all!
